Communication adapter ETRANS is a versatile interface between CNC machines and a modern computer equipment.
the communication adapter ETRANS is a device for connection of CNC machines with build in serial or parallel interface to a contemporary computer network Ethernet / Internet. The adapter can transmit NC programs per FTP protocol from/to FTP server in Intranet or Internet. Transmission can be controlled directly from CNC system of the machine - e.g. systems with protocol Heidenhain - or from ETRANS due to built in keyboard and display.
Communication adapter ETRANS can integrate control systems to a modern company infrastructure and eliminates most drawbacks of older installations .
Unlike of communication adapter TRANS, which is primarily destined for simulation of readers and punches of older systems the ETRANS is destined particularly for connection to the modern systems with serial input where transmission of big amount of data is necessary. ETRANS is destined exclusively for fixed connection because does not content any physical memory for partprograms ( during transmission request the files are transmitted in real time mode from FTP server). By ETRANS is possible to substitute some types of parallel readers.
A two types of ETRANS are manufactured - with or without build in keyboard and display. The keyboard an the display are used besides other things for setting configuration of ETRANS hence if ETRANS without display and keyboard is disposed an external terminal ( e.g. PC with operational system WINDOWS with HyperTerminal program) connected through a serial channel must be used.
In a full version (with keyboard and display) which is necessary for certain transmissions ( no-protocol transmission, parallel transmission), is possible to use all procedures destined for version without keyboard and display.
